Prayer based on Exodus 34

Lord, after we have failed so badly, would You give Your people another opportunity to serve You? If You would not, there could be no hope for Your church. You are the Lord, a God merciful and gracious. You have forgiven us in such a way that the penalty of our iniquity was paid through Your Son’s holy work on the cross. Pardon our iniquity and sin again we pray. Do wonders before us as Your work moves forward even through us. Drive out those who would only be a snare in our midst. Cause the pure truth of Your Word to be known and loved day by day. Is there yet hope for us after all our weakness and sin? Yes. Your promises are all “Yes” and “Amen” in Jesus Christ. We have been redeemed through the blood of that One Lamb. There is no other Name for us. There is no other Lamb for sinners. There is no other hope than what Christ has won for us. We turn away from all foolish idolatry and false worship. You are here among Your people. We hear Your Word, and follow Your Son, by the power of Your Spirit. Shine Your holy light in our midst, that we might be changed. If we are worldly in our ways, how can we be the light of the world? You will help us to know You and to follow You in truth and love. We will do Your holy will.
