Morning Devotion - Prov. 10

Read Proverbs 10

Note the following:
1. About one third of the proverbs in Chapter 10 are about COMMERCE (as v. 4), and
2. About one third are about the TONGUE [and by extension the heart] (as v. 13), and
3. About one third are about a person's LEGACY (as v. 28).

Further note: Note the appeal to RELATIONSHIP in verse 1 and compare with Matthew 3:17.

The Point: Whoever can tame his heart and his tongue is a perfect man. He will be pleasing to his father, and his legacy will be one of the greatest prosperity.

Such perfection was necessary for us to be rightly related to God as our father, and Christ has fully supplied this perfection for us. Through Him, the Father is pleased with you. Let your love for your father in heaven today be expressed today by hearing His Word of wisdom and obeying Him.

May God's grace and peace be with you this day.
