Antidote for the Apathetic

I am singing through the Psalter this week. Did you ever notice how easy it is for people to sing through the hymnal without thinking? Not so the psalms. They wake us up again to the real God. They are His speech. The arrogant will be awoken only to dismiss them. The humble will seek the solution to words that jar - not merely the words of judgment, but also the words that just seem strange. We think we know everything. God knows more than we do.

Do you wonder how you can sing a particular psalm? First ask yourself this question. How could Jesus sing this psalm? If you find the answer to that, then you will find the answer to how you can sing them. You are united to Him. You are His voice. The song is His song.
