Psalm 122

Paul says these words in Romans 11:29 regarding the Jews: “The gifts and calling of God are irrevocable.” In Exodus 4:22 the Lord says, “Israel is my firstborn son.” Could God forget His son? There is a connection between the children of the patriarch Jacob and the Jewish Messiah Jesus. “Out of Egypt I called my son.” See Hosea 11 and Matthew 2:15.

No matter what, God will not forget His son.

The Lord is building up His house in the heavens. He is bringing together Jews and Gentiles who are called by His Name. In the house of the Lord there is true unity among the family as we look to Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith.

I don't have to be dragged on the Lord's Day to worship. I want to go there. When the Day of the Lord comes, I won't have to be dragged to the New Jerusalem. I will be very glad when the trumpet sounds, and we will all be together with the Lord. I am looking for Jesus and the heavenly host. I want the new heavens and the new earth. I will be glad when the word comes forth from the Lord's united people, “Let us go to the house of the Lord!” Even now, in Jesus, my feet are standing within the gates of the heavenly Jerusalem. Through Him, I worship the Lord of heaven and earth. Through Him, I have all the promises of God.

In Christ alone, Jerusalem stands forever. In Christ, we have peace with God, and citizenship in the city of peace. The tribes that are on pilgrimage to the God of Jacob are no longer only those that came from Israel of old. Ancient promises are being fulfilled in our midst. All the people groups of the earth are being blessed through the promised Descendant of Abraham. All the tribes of the earth are streaming up the temple mount on high through the Jewish Messiah, the Son of David, the King of Israel.

There are still some among the descendants of Jacob who reject their own Messiah, even persecuting their countrymen who have put their trust in Him. It is time for that veil to be lifted, and for all Israel to see her glorious King. It is time for all the earth to rejoice in the Passover Lamb, the Firstfruits of the Resurrection.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem here below. There will be no real lasting peace in that great city or anywhere else on the earth except through Jesus. In Him we have peace forever. Pray for that peace that will come when He comes, when the New Jerusalem descends out of heaven as a bride adorned for her Husband and King.
