Psalm 143

Where are we going in our world today? Where are we headed? What is the pathway for the church? Are we becoming more like our Lord? Do we have confidence in Him?

These are big questions that are not easy to answer. We want to do more than just exist. We want to thrive as people of faith. You and I need God again today. We call out to Him for help.

God is faithful. Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He will always be the God of righteousness and steadfast love. Cultural decline or shocking trials of life cannot change the Lord's good commitment to your eternal well-being. The death of Jesus Christ is the fullness of God's righteousness and love for you no matter how insecure or troubled you may feel. Nothing can change the fact of His atonement for you.

The events of life around us do change. How many enemies are at the gate at this moment? Is your spirit fainting within you today? Remember the events of old that form the content of your faith. Think of the history of Israel, culminating in the coming of the Savior. Consider the events of His great life, and the wonder of His death and resurrection. Meditate on the progress of the saving Word of God throughout the world in the history of the church.

The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the God who lives within us by His Holy Spirit, the God who has granted to us faith and repentance, He is the One to whom we stretch out our hands. He hears you when you call out to Him. You can count on Him. He will not be offended if you ask Him to come to you quickly.

Save me, teach me, lead me!” We are not calling upon a god to merely fix our problems. We are bowing before a Lord that we trust with our lives. His way is the best way for us. He will show us what it means to thrive as His children, and He will guide us in His service. We not only need Him to rescue us from disaster. We want to thrive as His beloved children.

Blessed be God forever. He saves us from enemies that are too strong for us today. We will serve Him in love long after the present struggle is over.
